$450 Million Steel Plant to Begin Operations in Ogun by 2026

A $450 million steel manufacturing plant, Stellar Steel Company Limited, is set to commence operations in Ogun State by mid-2026.

The company, a subsidiary of Galaxy Group and RSIN Group based in Fuzhou, China, is expected to produce hot-rolled coil steel, iron doors, and gas cylinders — a move projected to cut Nigeria’s heavy steel import costs.

During a visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, RSIN Group Vice Chairman You Xiaotan confirmed that groundwork had been completed and construction was on schedule. He described the project as the group’s largest investment in Nigeria.

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting investors through fast-tracked approvals and incentives, noting that the new plant would boost employment and industrial growth.

“This investment validates Ogun’s status as Nigeria’s industrial capital,” Abiodun said, promising continued collaboration to ensure a smooth setup process.

The establishment of Stellar Steel further strengthens Ogun State’s growing reputation as a hub for manufacturing and foreign investment.
