Hailing from Oria, Edo State, Shirley’s journey began in the heart of Ibadan, Oyo State, where she attended Queen’s School and later worked with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) as a presenter and newscaster. Her passion for storytelling soon took her to RockCity 101.9 FM, Abeokuta, where she rose to become the Head of Programmes a position that defined her leadership in Nigeria’s broadcast industry.
Beyond the microphone, Shirley’s artistic depth as a poet, singer, and diction coach has touched many lives. Her calm yet powerful voice, refined through years of experience, continues to inspire confidence in those she mentors. Those who have trained under her often describe her as “an excellent communicator and a beautiful soul who genuinely gives herself to others.”
Her educational journey spans Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Alliance Française, and the University of Hull in the United Kingdom a combination that strengthened her global perspective while keeping her deeply rooted in Nigerian culture.
Today, from her base in the United Kingdom, Shirley channels her creativity into Crystallyn Studios (CS) a media and production brand with a mission to tell Africa’s stories the African way. Through films, documentaries, talk shows, and digital storytelling, Crystallyn Studios celebrates Nigeria’s rich culture, historical depth, and people’s resilience.
For Shirley, storytelling isn’t just a career it’s a calling. A devoted Christian and ardent listener of NSPPD, she credits her success to God’s grace and guidance, often saying that her purpose is to “shine light through words and art.”
