Nigeria Rugby Football Federation names home‑based Stallions XV to begin camp ahead of showdown in Accra.
The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) on November 20, 2025 announced a 42-man provisional squad ahead of the much-anticipated Heritage Cup clash with Ghana, set for November 29 at the University of Ghana Rugby Stadium in Accra.
All players selected are home-based, demonstrating NRFF’s confidence in local talent. The squad will open training camp on November 22 in Lagos, with players gathering at the Ojez Hotel in Ebute Metta.
The provisional list includes forwards and backs drawn from several prominent Nigerian rugby clubs, such as Cowrie RFC, Barewa RFC, Racing RFC, Delta State RFC, and AJ Sharks RFC.
Some key names in the forwards include Quadri Kolawole, Julius Godwin, and Iyintosoluwa Kolawole, while the backs feature Isa Omale, Oseni Fawaz, and Ibrahim Jeje.
NRFF officials say the 42-man squad will be trimmed to a final 24 players who will make the trip to Accra for the match.
The Heritage Cup match against Ghana is being framed as a major test for Nigeria’s domestic rugby talent, offering them an international platform and helping to boost the profile of the sport in country.
