The ultramodern shopping complex is set to boost retail growth, support SMEs, and expand job opportunities across Lagos State.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has officially opened his newly constructed shopping complex, Ojaja Mall, positioning it among the largest and most sophisticated retail centres in Lagos State.
The grand launch, attended by business leaders, community stakeholders, and dignitaries, marks a major milestone in the monarch’s efforts to drive economic expansion and youth empowerment through strategic investments.
Located in a bustling commercial district, Ojaja Mall features a wide range of retail outlets, a full-scale supermarket, dining spaces, entertainment zones, and dedicated stalls for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The facility is projected to serve thousands of shoppers daily while generating significant employment opportunities for residents.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Ooni described the project as part of his vision to encourage local entrepreneurship and modernize Nigeria’s retail landscape.
He said the mall was deliberately designed to “create a thriving marketplace where local vendors, artisans and SMEs can grow alongside major retail brands.”Economic analysts say the arrival of Ojaja Mall will accelerate business activity in Lagos, strengthen supply chains, and support local manufacturers who depend on retail outlets for visibility and distribution. With Lagos already serving as Nigeria’s commercial heartbeat, the mall is expected to attract more investors and consumers in the coming months.
The project also aligns with the Ooni’s broader mission of using commerce to empower youths, stimulate innovation, and foster sustainable development across Yorubaland and beyond.
