The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned social media personality Blessing CEO over allegations relating to a fresh N13 million medical fraud case.
According to the anti-graft agency, the charges stem from an alleged fraudulent medical-related transaction involving the sum of N13 million. The defendant was brought before the court to answer to the allegations as part of ongoing legal proceedings.
During the arraignment, the charges were formally presented before the court, marking the latest development in the case. The defendant is expected to respond to the allegations through the judicial process.
The EFCC stated that the prosecution forms part of its broader efforts to investigate and prosecute cases involving alleged financial crimes and fraudulent activities across the country.
Legal experts note that an arraignment is a procedural step in criminal proceedings and does not amount to a conviction. The court will determine the merits of the case based on the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defence.
The matter has attracted public attention due to Blessing CEO’s prominence on social media and her influence as a public figure.
The case is expected to continue in court, where further proceedings will determine the outcome of the allegations. Until a final judgment is delivered, the defendant remains entitled to the presumption of innocence under the law.
