Slain Ex-OGTV Broadcaster's Missing Vehicle Recovered as Ogun CP Visits Crime Scene

Police intensify investigation into the killing of former broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard, as forensic experts are drafted in from Lagos.

The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the missing vehicle belonging to slain former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, as investigations into her murder and that of her security guard continue.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Monday visited the deceased's residence in the Kobape area of Abeokuta for an on-the-spot assessment of the crime scene, reaffirming the Command's commitment to bringing those responsible for the killings to justice.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the deceased's Lexus RX300, which was earlier reported missing from the residence, was recovered by police operatives during an overnight operation and has since been secured as part of the ongoing investigation.

During his visit, the Commissioner inspected the premises and received updates from detectives handling the case. He assured the bereaved family and residents of Ogun State that the Command would leave no stone unturned in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Ojajuni stated that all available resources were being deployed to identify, apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the killings.

The Police Command also disclosed that significant progress has been made in the investigation and pledged to keep the public informed as new developments emerge.

Speaking with journalists after inspecting the scene, the Commissioner revealed that forensic experts from Lagos were being expected to assist investigators in gathering critical evidence that could help unravel the mystery behind the killings.

"We are on top of the situation. We are going to cordon off the area as we are expecting experts from Lagos. Anytime from now, they will be around," he said.

The incident was reported to the Owode Egba Police Division on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after a resident of Iyana Agodo Village alerted the police to suspicious activities at the residence.

Police detectives who responded to the report observed signs of forced entry and disturbance during a preliminary assessment of the property.

According to DSP Babaseyi, the body of the security guard was discovered inside the security post, while the lifeless body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found inside her apartment. Her vehicle, which was initially missing from the premises, has now been recovered.

The gruesome killing of the retired broadcaster has sparked widespread condemnation within media circles and across Ogun State, with colleagues, friends and residents calling for a thorough investigation and swift justice for the victims.
