The Sultan of Sokoto has called on people across northern Nigeria to come together in the fight against banditry and terrorism.
The traditional ruler stressed that tackling insecurity requires unity and cooperation among communities, leaders and other stakeholders in the region.
“We need to come together against banditry and terrorism,” the Sultan said.
His call comes amid continued security challenges in parts of northern Nigeria, where attacks by armed groups have resulted in deaths, displacement and disruption of economic activities.
The Sultan urged northerners to put aside their differences and work collectively towards restoring peace and security in affected communities.
He maintained that the fight against insecurity should not be left to security agencies and government authorities alone, stressing the importance of cooperation and support from citizens.
The traditional ruler also called for stronger community involvement and collaboration with relevant authorities to address the security challenges facing the region.
He expressed hope that greater unity and collective responsibility would strengthen efforts to defeat banditry and terrorism and restore lasting peace across northern Nigeria.
