‘Fake Agency’ Boss Fights Back With Appointment Letter, Denies ICPC Allegation

George Nwabueze says the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office has existed for 16 years.

The National Coordinator and Executive Director of the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, George Nwabueze, has denied allegations that he is running a “fake agency” in Nigeria.

Nwabueze reportedly presented an appointment letter in response to the allegation, insisting that the office is legitimate and has been in existence for 16 years.

His response follows an allegation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that weak systems in Nigeria enabled Adeyemi to establish a “fake agency.”

Nwabueze maintained that the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office is not a fictitious organisation and said its existence predates the current controversy.

The development comes as questions continue to surround the operations, recognition and official status of the office.

Nwabueze's presentation of the appointment letter is expected to form part of his defence against the allegation as the controversy continues.
