Nigeria recorded about 45,000 new HIV infections in 2025, according to the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).
The figure highlights the continued need to strengthen HIV prevention, testing, treatment and awareness efforts across the country.
NACA has consistently encouraged Nigerians to know their HIV status, embrace preventive measures and ensure that people living with HIV have access to appropriate treatment and support.
