The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has filed a forfeiture suit against a nightclub owned by Lagos socialite Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, following a major drug raid that led to over 100 arrests.
The Chairman and Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), confirmed that the agency has initiated forfeiture proceedings against Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Operatives raided the club on Sunday after receiving intelligence about a planned “drug party,” arresting more than 100 attendees, including Pretty Mike and the club manager, Joachin Milary.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, undercover agents infiltrated the event, monitored activities for hours, and seized 384.886 kilograms of Canadian Loud and other illicit substances from the premises.
Marwa condemned what he described as a “culture of impunity” within parts of Nigeria’s entertainment sector, warning club owners and hoteliers that their facilities risk forfeiture if linked to drug-related crimes.
