Super Falcons Fly High Again, Qualify for WAFCON 2026

 


Nigeria’s Super Falcons have once again proven their dominance in African women’s football, qualifying for the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after defeating Benin Republic on a 3-1 aggregate.


Following a 2–0 win in Cotonou and a 1–1 draw in Abeokuta, the Falcons secured their 16th consecutive WAFCON appearance.

The reigning champions now join host nation Morocco as early qualifiers for the tournament.


With this record, Nigeria remains the most successful women’s team on the continent, boasting ten WAFCON titles.

Fans across the country are celebrating what they call a “historic consistency of excellence.”
