Social media users are having a field day after a Twitter user, @Bella_bb02, posted a controversial relationship demand that instantly went viral. In her tweet, she wrote:
“If my man hen 500k monthly, he must be giving me 450k.”
The post quickly drew thousands of reactions not just over the bold financial expectation, but also over the grammatical slip “hen”, which many users jokingly interpreted as either a typo for “earns” or a mysterious new slang.
The tweet triggered a wave of humorous comments, memes and debates about entitlement, gender expectations, and modern dating standards.
While some users laughed at the typo, others questioned whether any woman should expect 90% of a partner’s monthly income.
One commenter joked, “Is the man supposed to ‘hen’ the money like a chicken?”
Another wrote, “Even Federal Government no dey collect tax like this.”
However, a few users defended her, arguing that partners should be supportive of each other financially though many admitted that ₦450,000 out of ₦500,000 was “pushing it.”
The tweet has since become a trending talking point, adding yet another chapter to Nigeria’s never-ending online debates about relationships, money, and social media standards.
