The First Lady made the declaration during a Thanksgiving service in Abuja, insisting that despite current challenges, Nigeria’s unity remains non-negotiable.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed that the country will remain united, insisting that Nigeria “will not disintegrate” despite the economic and security challenges confronting the nation.
She made the statement on Sunday during a Thanksgiving service held in honour of the investiture of Most Rev. Sunday Onuoha as Archbishop on Special Duties at the Methodist Unity Cathedral in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, Senator Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity is its strength, adding that the current difficulties are temporary and will not threaten the nation’s cohesion.
“Nigeria will not disintegrate. We will remain united, and we will emerge stronger,” she assured the congregation.
The First Lady also encouraged religious leaders to continue praying for national stability, urging them to play a constructive role in fostering peace and moral direction in the country.
Most Rev. Onuoha’s investiture attracted dignitaries from across religious and political spheres, with participants echoing the call for unity and collective responsibility in nation-building.
Her remarks come at a time when public concerns about governance, security, and economic hardship have led to heated national debates about Nigeria’s future.
