Trump Declares Nigeria a ‘Country of Particular Concern’ Over Killing of Christians

Former U.S. President calls alleged violence in Nigeria “mass slaughter” of Christians

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared Nigeria a “country of particular concern,” citing what he described as the “mass slaughter” of Christians by radical groups.

Posting on his platform Truth Social, Trump said Christianity faces an existential threat in Nigeria, alleging that thousands of Christians have been killed.

He instructed U.S. lawmakers, including Congressman Riley Moore and House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole, to investigate the situation.

“The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening,” Trump wrote.

He added that the U.S. “stands ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world.”

The statement comes amid renewed debate about religious freedom and violence in Nigeria, where rights groups have frequently raised alarms over communal and extremist attacks in parts of the country.
