The Governor of Babajide Sanwo-Olu has symbolically handed over his seat to Miss Esther Etiyemonu, a brilliant pupil of Lagos State Senior Model College, Igbookuta, Imota, who emerged winner of the 2025/2026 Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition.
The historic moment took place as part of the Lagos State One-Day Governor initiative, a program designed to reward academic excellence, promote leadership values among young learners, and encourage intellectual development across schools in Lagos State.
Miss Etiyemonu, who earned the prestigious opportunity through her outstanding spelling and language skills, was warmly received at the State House, where Governor Sanwo-Olu publicly ceded his official seat to her for the day.
