Obasa retains his role as President of the West African region while taking on a new continental leadership position.

Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area in Lagos, has been elected Vice President of the Young Elected Local Officials Network for Africa (YELONA). The election adds a continental leadership role to his current position as President of the organisation’s West African region.

Obasa’s election reflects his growing influence and recognition among young elected officials across Africa. In his dual role, he is expected to drive initiatives that support youth participation in governance, promote effective local leadership, and foster collaboration among local governments across the continent.
