Nigerian Aviation Authorities Warn Drone Operators Against Flying in “No-Fly Zones”

Unauthorized drone operations in restricted areas could lead to jail time and equipment seizure, aviation officials caution.

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a stern warning to drone operators, emphasizing that flying in designated “no-fly zones” without proper clearance is illegal and carries serious consequences. Violators risk imprisonment and the seizure of their equipment.

Authorities highlighted that restricted zones include areas around airports, government buildings, military installations, and other sensitive locations. The directive aims to enhance public safety, protect critical infrastructure, and prevent potential security threats posed by unauthorized drone flights.
