Faith Leader Appeals for Support as Nigerian Couple Welcomes Quadruplets at Ages 50 and 63

Dr Omolola Omoteso calls for public assistance to help cover hospital bills and provide support for the family following the rare birth

A faith leader and humanitarian advocate, Dr Omolola Omoteso, has appealed to the public to support a Nigerian couple who recently welcomed a set of quadruplets despite being advanced in age. The couple, aged 50 and 63, reportedly received the babies as what Omoteso described as a divine blessing, but now face mounting financial responsibilities associated with caring for the newborns.

According to Omoteso, the situation came to her attention through a call from another faith leader who was aware of her ministry and humanitarian work focused on prayer, healing, and support for families facing medical challenges. She recounted previous instances where she had helped families through prayer, encouragement, and fundraising efforts, including supporting a child born with a hole in the heart whose surgery was successfully carried out in India after donors contributed funds for the medical procedure.

Omoteso also cited other testimonies linked to her faith based outreach, including a case involving a child who was initially labelled unable to speak due to a tongue condition but later improved after receiving care and intervention. She explained that these experiences strengthened her conviction that the quadruplets’ birth represents a blessing that the wider community should rally around to support.

The faith leader noted that the couple had not anticipated the arrival of four babies at once and now require assistance to meet immediate and long term needs. She disclosed that a fundraising effort is currently underway with a target of 10 million naira. According to the breakdown she provided, about 3.5 million naira is needed to settle hospital bills, 2.5 million naira to secure comfortable accommodation for the family, 2 million naira for essential baby care needs, and another 2 million naira to support the wife’s small business so she can expand it and sustain the household.

Omoteso further explained that the children’s father, a missionary who has been involved in counselling and providing guidance on legal and organisational matters for many individuals, intends to continue offering advisory and counselling services as a way of giving back to the community that supports the family.

She urged government agencies, philanthropists, and well meaning individuals both within and outside Nigeria to assist the family, describing the quadruplets as a rare blessing that requires collective compassion and support from society.
