The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has defended President Bola Tinubu over criticisms surrounding insecurity in Nigeria, saying it is unfair to expect the President to personally confront criminals.

Speaking on the country's security challenges, Adeboye said he does not agree with those who claim the President has not done enough to address insecurity.

"I don't support those who are saying Tinubu has not done enough. You don't expect him to go and put on khaki," the cleric said.

Adeboye noted that while the government has a responsibility to tackle insecurity, the President cannot single-handedly fight terrorists, bandits and other criminal elements without the support of the nation's security agencies and citizens.

His comments come amid continued public debate over the Federal Government's efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other security challenges across the country.

The respected cleric called for continued support for security institutions and urged Nigerians to remain united in the collective fight against insecurity.
