The Federal Government has partnered with the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) to help transition millions of vulnerable Nigerians from dependence on humanitarian assistance to sustainable livelihoods.
The partnership is expected to provide beneficiaries with access to agricultural finance, productive assets, skills development and enterprise opportunities.
The initiative is aimed at helping vulnerable households develop sustainable sources of income while strengthening their participation in agricultural and other productive economic activities.
Through access to financing and productive assets, beneficiaries are expected to have greater opportunities to establish or expand businesses, improve agricultural production and generate sustainable income.
The Federal Government said the partnership reflects a shift towards interventions that not only provide immediate support to vulnerable Nigerians but also equip them with the means to become economically self-reliant.
The collaboration with BOA is expected to strengthen access to agricultural financing and other resources needed to support beneficiaries as they transition from humanitarian assistance to productive livelihoods.
The initiative is also expected to contribute to broader efforts to reduce poverty, expand financial inclusion, create employment and strengthen Nigeria's agricultural economy.
