Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of American rapper Tupac Shakur, nearly three decades after the iconic musician was killed.
Davis was convicted on Monday in connection with the 1996 shooting of Tupac near the Las Vegas Strip, a case that remained unsolved for years.
Prosecutors accused Davis of helping plan the killing following a confrontation involving Tupac and members of a rival gang.
Davis is the only person ever charged in connection with Tupac Shakur’s murder. His arrest in 2023 marked a major development in the long-running investigation.
Tupac, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in hip-hop history, was shot multiple times while riding in a car on September 7, 1996. He died from his injuries six days later at the age of 25.
The conviction brings a significant development to one of the most closely followed murder cases in music history.
