Man Dies On Highway While Fleeing US Immigration Officers

A tragic scene unfolded on a Virginia highway last Thursday when 24-year-old Honduran national Josué Castro Rivera was fatally struck by a truck while fleeing from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

According to reports, Castro Rivera was heading to work when ICE agents pulled over his vehicle in a “targeted operation.” In a bid to escape arrest, he ran onto Interstate 264, where he was hit by a Ford pickup and pronounced dead at the scene.

His brother, Henry Castro, told reporters, “He didn’t deserve everything that happened to him. He had a good heart.”

ICE confirmed that the officers were conducting an “intelligence-based operation” and that Castro Rivera “resisted heavily before fleeing.”

The incident has sparked renewed outrage over immigration enforcement tactics, echoing similar fatal cases in Illinois and California earlier this year. Castro Rivera’s family is now raising funds to repatriate his body to Honduras for burial.
