Federal Government Shortlists 65 Student Innovators for Final Stage of Student Venture Capital Grant

President Tinubu’s Initiative Aims to Accelerate High-Impact Student Ventures and Boost Nigeria’s Innovation Economy

The Federal Government has announced that 65 student innovators have been shortlisted from a pool of 30,639 applicants across 404 tertiary institutions nationwide for the final stage of the Student Venture Capital Grant (S-VCG). The initiative, a flagship program of President Bola Tinubu, is designed to support high-potential student-led ventures and strengthen Nigeria’s innovation-driven economy.

According to officials, the S-VCG program provides funding, mentorship, and technical support to students with scalable business ideas, aiming to nurture entrepreneurship and drive socio-economic growth. The shortlisted innovators represent a diverse range of sectors, including technology, healthcare, agriculture, and creative industries.
