Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Bayelsa State.
The corps members were said to have been abducted on Wednesday while returning from the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of the state.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of corps members, particularly those travelling between orientation camps and their places of primary assignment.
Security agencies are expected to intensify efforts to locate the abducted corps members and secure their safe release.
Authorities have yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the abduction or whether any contact has been established with the kidnappers.
The development has also renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect corps members during transit and throughout their national service.
