Inojie made the remarks while reflecting on his experience working with the late actor, whom he described as possessing an extraordinary ability to understand and retain lines with remarkable ease.

According to Inojie, Sam Loco required very little rehearsal and could read through a scene with another actor just once before being ready to perform.

“Sam Loco was the most intelligent Nollywood actor that ever lived. He had an active subconscious mind that he’s capable of hearing what one is saying from a far distance,” Inojie said.

He recalled that when preparing for scenes with Sam Loco, the veteran actor would often read through the material with him only once before encouraging him to go and rehearse his own lines.

Inojie further explained that Sam Loco’s exceptional memory could become particularly evident during filming, saying the late actor was capable of remembering another actor’s lines and prompting them when they forgot what they were supposed to say.

“If you have a scene to play with him, he would only read with you once. He would tell you to go and rehearse your own lines. And when you miss your lines during acting, he would remind you about your lines,” he added.

The actor’s account highlights the level of preparation, memory and spontaneity that colleagues associated with Sam Loco during his decades-long career in Nigerian entertainment.

Inojie also used the opportunity to describe Sam Loco in extraordinary terms, saying, “Sam Loco was from another planet,” as he reflected on what he regarded as the late actor’s exceptional talent.

Beyond his acting ability, Inojie expressed disappointment that Sam Loco died without receiving a national honour, arguing that his contributions to Nigerian entertainment deserved greater official recognition.

Sam Loco Efe was one of the most recognisable figures in Nigerian film and television, with a career spanning theatre, television and Nollywood. He was known for his distinctive comic timing, expressive performances and ability to bring memorable characters to life.

His death in August 2011 marked the loss of one of the industry’s prominent veteran performers. Years after his passing, colleagues and fans continue to remember his contribution to the development and popularity of Nigerian home video and Nollywood.

Charles Inojie’s latest tribute has therefore renewed conversations about Sam Loco’s legacy, his influence on younger actors and the recognition given to veteran entertainers who played significant roles in shaping Nigeria’s film industry.
