The Federal Ministry of Education has urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards return to their respective Federal Unity Colleges as the 2026/2027 academic session begins nationwide.

The Federal Ministry of Education has called on parents and guardians to ensure the timely return of their children and wards to their respective Federal Unity Colleges as the 2026/2027 academic session gets underway across the country.

The ministry made the appeal as schools under the Federal Unity Colleges system resume academic activities for the new session.

Parents and guardians have been encouraged to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that students return to school on schedule and participate fully in academic activities from the beginning of the session.

The Federal Unity Colleges form part of the Federal Government’s secondary education system and provide students from different parts of Nigeria with opportunities to study in a shared learning environment.

The ministry stressed the importance of students resuming promptly, noting that early attendance is essential for effective participation in lessons, orientation programmes and other activities scheduled for the beginning of the academic session.

Students returning to the colleges are also expected to comply with the rules and regulations of their respective institutions and work closely with school authorities throughout the session.

Parents and guardians have similarly been encouraged to maintain communication with school management and provide the necessary support to enable their children and wards to settle into the new academic year.

The commencement of the 2026/2027 session marks a new academic cycle for thousands of students enrolled in Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria.

The ministry is expected to continue working with school authorities to promote effective teaching and learning and ensure that students have an environment conducive to academic and personal development.
