RCCG General Overseer urges believers to seek God’s blessing as the foundation for lasting success
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has described the simple prayer “God bless me” as the greatest prayer anyone can offer, stressing that divine blessing is the key to a fulfilled and meaningful life.
Pastor Adeboye made the statement while addressing worshippers during a recent church programme, where he emphasised that God’s blessing encompasses every aspect of human existence, including health, peace, provision, and purpose. According to him, when God blesses a person, doors open effortlessly and struggles are reduced, regardless of the challenges surrounding them.
He explained that many people focus on praying for specific things such as wealth, success, promotion, or protection, but fail to realise that a single blessing from God covers all these needs and more. “When God blesses you, everything connected to your life receives that blessing,” the cleric noted.
The respected preacher encouraged believers to pursue a life that attracts God’s blessing through obedience, humility, gratitude, and service to others. He added that divine blessing is not limited by human circumstances, background, or status, but flows from a genuine relationship with God.
Pastor Adeboye also reminded Christians that material achievements without God’s blessing can bring stress and sorrow, while even little resources, when blessed by God, can multiply and bring joy and stability.
The message has since sparked widespread reflection among followers and on social media, with many describing the statement as a timely reminder of the power of simple, heartfelt prayers and complete dependence on God.
