Ogun State Honours Nigeria’s Best Primary School Teacher with House, Car and ₦50 Million Reward

 

Solanke Francis Taiwo recognized for excellence as government reaffirms commitment to education reform and teacher welfare

Ogun State has celebrated outstanding achievement in the education sector by rewarding Mr. Solanke Francis Taiwo, a primary school teacher at Ansa-Ur-Deen Main School I, Abeokuta, who emerged as the Overall Best Primary School Teacher in Nigeria for the 2025/2026 academic session.


In recognition of his exceptional performance and dedication to teaching, the state government presented him with a two-bedroom bungalow under its State Housing Scheme. The house will be built in a location of his choice. He was also handed the keys to a brand-new car donated by the Federal Government, in addition to the ₦50 million cash prize previously awarded to him at the National Teachers’ Summit held in Abuja.


Officials described the recognition as a testament to the state’s sustained investment in education, teacher welfare, professional training, digitisation, and innovation. The government noted that empowering educators and rewarding excellence are central pillars of its strategy to improve learning outcomes and strengthen the education system.


The administration reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing reforms designed to support teachers and learners across the state, positioning Ogun as a national benchmark in education development.
