Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on girls and young women across the country to dream big and pursue their ambitions with determination and confidence.
The First Lady made the appeal while emphasising the importance of education, hard work, resilience and self-belief in achieving personal and professional success.
According to her, young women possess immense potential to contribute meaningfully to national development and should not allow societal limitations or challenges to prevent them from pursuing their goals.
Oluremi Tinubu encouraged girls to take advantage of educational opportunities, develop their skills and prepare themselves for leadership roles in various sectors of society.
She also stressed the need for greater support for female empowerment initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for women and girls in education, entrepreneurship, governance, science, technology and other fields.
The First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to programmes and policies that promote the welfare, advancement and inclusion of women and girls, noting that empowering young women remains essential to building a more prosperous and equitable society.
Her remarks have been welcomed by advocates of gender equality and youth development, who continue to emphasise the importance of creating an environment where girls can thrive and realise their full potential.
The call comes amid ongoing efforts by government agencies, civil society organisations and development partners to increase opportunities for girls and young women across Nigeria.
