Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has taken a swipe at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, describing him as "a dancing governor" and calling on the people of Osun State to vote for a new leader in the next governorship election.
Speaking at a political event, Okpebholo criticised Adeleke's leadership style, alleging that the governor prioritises dancing over governance.
"Is Osun State not tired of having a dancing governor? Before he signs paper, he will dance. For four years he has been dancing. He's Obaseki's friend. We have to kick him out the way we kicked Obaseki out of Edo," Okpebholo said.
The Edo governor also referenced his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki, linking him to Adeleke as he urged Osun voters to effect a political change similar to what occurred in Edo State.
Okpebholo's remarks have sparked reactions across political circles and social media, with supporters and critics weighing in on the comments as political activities ahead of the Osun governorship election continue to gather momentum.
As of the time of reporting, Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Osun State Government had not publicly responded to the statement.
