Some Kano State residents who attended an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally have expressed dissatisfaction over an alleged payment of N3,000 to participants.
In a video circulating online, some of the residents could be heard complaining about the amount, with one participant saying some people had to borrow money for transportation to get to the campaign ground.
“If you people keep giving us ₦3,000 for APC campaign, we won’t come again. Some of us borrowed transport fare to come to the campaign ground, and they are only paying us ₦3,000,” one of the residents was heard saying.
The complaint has drawn attention to the practice of mobilising supporters for political rallies, particularly where attendees are reportedly provided with transportation or other forms of financial support to participate.
The residents' comments appeared to reflect frustration over the amount allegedly offered to them after making the journey to the campaign venue.
The development has also sparked discussions online about the conditions under which supporters are mobilised for political events and whether such payments adequately cover the costs incurred by participants.
However, the identities of the residents and the organisers allegedly responsible for the payment could not be independently established from the video, and the circumstances surrounding the reported N3,000 payment remain unclear.
