NIPR Inducts Over 400 New Members at 4th Quarter Hybrid Ceremony in Abuja

Institute urges fresh professionals to uphold ethics, embrace AI, and strengthen Nigeria’s reputation

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has inducted over 400 new members during its 4th Quarter Induction Ceremony, held in a hybrid format at Bolingo Xperia Hotel, Abuja, with additional participants joining virtually from across the country.

The high-profile event was attended by top officials of the Institute, including the President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, fnipr, council members, senior practitioners, and other distinguished guests who gathered to welcome the final batch of inductees for the year.

In his keynote address, Dr. Neliaku congratulated the new members and emphasised that they are joining the profession at a time when ethical discipline, time management, responsible storytelling, and national development are critical. He urged them to preserve and defend the Institute’s bylaws, uphold its code of ethics, and practise public relations with integrity and professionalism.

He also reaffirmed the central role of PR in shaping national narratives, stressing that practitioners must “tell stories that reflect public opinion wisely and contribute to Nigeria’s growth.”

The Vice President of NIPR further enlightened inductees on the Institute’s definition and evolving mission, highlighting the importance of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency, strategic communication, and the overall value of the profession.

The hybrid ceremony featured physical and virtual participation, ensuring wider accessibility for inductees unable to be present in Abuja. Certificates were presented to all successful candidates, marking their official entry into Nigeria’s most recognised body for public relations professionals.

With this induction, the NIPR closes the year by adding a new cohort of trained and ethically guided professionals poised to redefine the reputation of the profession and contribute meaningfully to national and organisational image building.
