A prominent Ogun State politician and traditional leader, Chief Joju Fadairo, has announced his retirement from active politics and his withdrawal from partisan political activities.
Speaking during a press conference at his residence in Abeokuta, Chief Fadairo said the decision was reached after deep personal reflection and was not influenced by any individual, political group, or external pressure.
According to him, after several decades of active participation in politics at both the state and national levels, he is convinced that he has made his contributions to public service and believes it is time to step aside.
"Having actively participated in the political landscape of our great nation at both state and national levels for several decades, I am convinced that I have made my contributions and fulfilled my obligations. I believe the time has come for me to step aside and take a well-deserved rest, in line with the timeless saying that there is a season for everything," he said.
Chief Fadairo disclosed that he would now dedicate more time to community development initiatives and his traditional responsibilities as the Asiwaju of Ifo Land and the Fiwagbaye of Igboland.
He expressed appreciation to his family, political associates, supporters, well-wishers, and members of the media for their unwavering support throughout his political career.
"I wish to use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to my family, my political associates, supporters, well-wishers, and the media, whose unwavering encouragement and support have been instrumental throughout my political journey," he added.
The former political leader further announced that, with immediate effect, he would no longer be affiliated with any political party and would remain non-partisan.
Despite stepping away from partisan politics, Chief Fadairo pledged to continue contributing to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria, promising to serve as a father figure to all, irrespective of political affiliation.
