Security expert Moruf Yusuf, popularly known as Ojogbon, has advised Nigerians to avoid becoming overly predictable in their daily movements as part of practical personal security.
Yusuf made the call in Series #126 of The Secure Mind, titled “Switch from Maintaining a Routine.”
He noted that many people naturally follow predictable patterns, including using the same routes to work or home, visiting the same places and moving around at familiar times.
According to him, while routines may provide convenience, excessive predictability can create avoidable security risks.
He advised individuals to vary their routes, routines and timing where possible, while remaining observant of their surroundings and adjusting their plans when necessary.
Yusuf stressed that personal security requires thoughtful planning and the practical application of useful security habits rather than relying solely on familiar routines.
He urged people to remain flexible and avoid making their movements unnecessarily easy to anticipate.
The security expert also emphasised the importance of staying alert, observing changes in one's environment and being prepared to modify routines when circumstances demand it.
“Acting predictably undermines even the strongest security arrangements.”
He encouraged Nigerians to develop safer habits without creating unnecessary fear, stressing that awareness, flexibility and preparedness are important components of personal security.
Just be good. Reflect. Stay alert.
