Former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Julie Okah-Donli, has alleged that some women now use steroids to fake pregnancies and illegally obtain babies in a bid to deceive their husbands.
According to Okah-Donli, the disturbing trend involves women creating the appearance of pregnancy before acquiring babies through illegal means to maintain the deception.
She made the remarks while highlighting concerns about baby trafficking and other related criminal activities, calling for greater public awareness and stronger efforts to tackle the problem.
The former NAPTIP boss urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities, stressing the need to protect children from trafficking and exploitation.
Her comments have sparked conversations on social media, with many calling for stricter enforcement against baby trafficking and increased public education on the dangers and legal consequences of such practices.
