South African music star Tyla has cancelled her scheduled Lagos concert, removing the Nigerian stop from her APOP World Tour after days of growing backlash and boycott calls from some Nigerians.
The planned concert, which was scheduled to hold in Lagos on December 22, 2026, disappeared from the singer's official tour itinerary following widespread criticism on social media over renewed xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other African migrants in South Africa.
The backlash was amplified by activists and social media personalities, including VeryDarkMan, who urged Nigerians to boycott the event until stronger action is taken against xenophobic violence targeting Nigerians in South Africa.
As of the time of reporting, Tyla and her management have not issued an official statement explaining the cancellation or removal of the Lagos concert from the tour schedule.
