Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has unveiled her new ministry, New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), in Abuja.
Dikeh announced the establishment of the ministry on her social media platforms, describing NWPT as an interdenominational altar, spiritual home and global movement for believers seeking revival and a deeper relationship with God.
According to the ministry's stated vision, NWPT seeks to promote a global awakening of consecrated believers and equip them to contribute to the advancement of Christianity and the transformation of society.
Dikeh also clarified that the ministry is not a conventional church, but an intense gathering of believers who are committed to spiritual growth, prayer, revival and fulfilling God's purposes.
The ministry's activities are expected to include prayer, revival meetings, apostolic training, evangelism, activation of spiritual gifts and deliverance.
The actress further announced that the fellowship will hold every Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Abuja, at Omini Grand Hotel, formerly Alexis Hotel, upstairs by Masalachi Junction, Jabi, FCT.
The launch has generated significant reactions online, with some Nigerians welcoming Dikeh's new religious venture while others expressed scepticism about celebrities moving into ministry.
The ministry takes its name and inspiration from Mark 2:22, which references the need for new wine to be put into new wineskins.
Dikeh has increasingly spoken publicly about her Christian faith in recent years, with her latest move marking another major development in her transition from entertainment into religious activities.
