Phyna, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, defeated Nkechi Blessing by knockout in the fourth round of their scheduled four-round contest at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Following the victory, Phyna was presented with the championship belt and also received ₦50 million and a new car as part of her prizes.
The reality star relied on her movement and speed during the early stages of the bout as Nkechi Blessing applied pressure and looked to engage at close range.
The decisive moment came in the fourth round when Phyna landed the punch that sent Nkechi Blessing to the canvas. The actress was unable to beat the referee’s count, bringing the contest to an end.
Phyna’s victory marked the first female celebrity boxing contest staged under Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series and has generated significant attention among entertainment and boxing fans.
After the fight, Phyna indicated that she wants to continue boxing and immediately called out Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia, who was present at ringside.
Etinosa accepted the challenge, potentially setting the stage for another celebrity boxing showdown.
For Phyna, the victory added another memorable milestone to her entertainment career, as she moved from reality television into the boxing ring and emerged with the championship belt after a dramatic fourth-round finish.
