Carter Efe has defeated Speed Darlington in a closely watched celebrity boxing showdown at the “Chaos in the Ring” event held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The four-round contest ended with Carter Efe being declared the winner, extending his unbeaten record in the celebrity boxing series. Reports from the event differ on the exact nature of the stoppage, with some describing it as a technical knockout after the referee intervened, while other reports say the fight went the full four rounds and was awarded to Efe by unanimous decision.

Efe controlled large portions of the contest, landing several punches as the two entertainers battled for the celebrity boxing title.

The fight followed weeks of intense exchanges between Carter Efe and Speed Darlington, with both entertainers trading words before eventually settling their rivalry inside the ring.

Carter Efe entered the contest as the defending celebrity boxing champion after defeating singer Portable by unanimous decision in May 2026.

The latest victory further establishes Efe as one of the leading personalities in Nigeria’s growing celebrity boxing scene, while Speed Darlington’s appearance added another high-profile rivalry to the “Chaos in the Ring” series.

Following his victory, Carter Efe expressed interest in facing international opponents and mentioned names including American rapper DDG and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

The event also featured a historic female celebrity boxing contest, with Big Brother Naija winner Phyna defeating Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing by knockout.

The “Chaos in the Ring” Independence Day edition was held as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and attracted significant attention from entertainment and boxing fans across the country.
