YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul says negotiations are ongoing for a 2026 blockbuster fight with former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
American YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul has confirmed that talks are underway for a potential 2026 bout against British heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Paul said discussions between both camps were progressing and that he was excited about the challenge. “Our teams are already talking and working to make it happen next year,” he said.
Paul, who is set to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match on November 14, said fighting Joshua would be a career-defining opportunity. “Taking on Anthony Joshua after Davis would be massive. No one expects me to win, but that’s what motivates me,” the 27-year-old said.
However, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter and head of Matchroom Boxing, cautioned that the fight would depend on Paul’s performance against Davis. “If Jake Paul gets knocked out by Gervonta Davis, there’s no Anthony Joshua fight,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
Anthony Joshua, who last fought in September 2024 when he was defeated by Daniel Dubois, is expected to return to the ring in early 2026 in Ghana, Saudi Arabia, or London.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul has also hinted at a possible cruiserweight world title fight against Badou Jack, the reigning WBC Cruiserweight Champion, if the Joshua bout does not materialize.
The proposed Joshua–Paul matchup, if finalized, could become one of the most talked-about crossover fights in modern boxing history, drawing massive global attention to both the sport and its celebrity participants.
