In a bold move to transform women’s healthcare in Africa, VivaFemini, a new digital wellness platform, is set to connect more than 250 million African women to licensed healthcare professionals through its user-friendly mobile app not Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Speaking during a recent interview, Felix Bomide, the Visioner and Chief Executive Officer of VivaFemini, said the platform is built to reduce maternal mortality by providing access to real-time clinical support, early pregnancy risk detection, and reproductive health education across Nigeria and the continent.
“Nigeria still has one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world,” Bomide said. “VivaFemini is designed to eliminate delays in care and detection. Our users will have access to licensed professionals doctors, nurses, midwives, therapists, and psychologists all vetted to provide safe, quality care.”
According to Bomide, the app features an integrated care pathway that includes guided pregnancy plans, lab test scheduling, automated reminders, and multilingual health education in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Pidgin English, ensuring accessibility for women across diverse regions.
Unlike other wellness apps that rely heavily on artificial intelligence, VivaFemini prioritizes human expertise. Bomide clarified that while the platform uses AI tools for user guidance, medical advice and solutions come directly from qualified clinicians.
“Our AI doesn’t replace healthcare providers. It only guides users to seek help from our licensed experts. VivaFemini is not an AI solution, it’s a real human health platform,” he emphasized.
The app also offers a safe and anonymous community forum, where women can discuss sensitive health concerns and receive expert responses discreetly.
Beyond maternal care, VivaFemini provides tracking tools for fertility, reproductive health, and general wellness, giving women holistic control over their healthcare journey.
VivaFemini’s official launch is set for January 12, 2026, with partnerships already established with healthcare facilities in Lagos and other states. Women are encouraged to join the waitlist at www.vivafemini.org ahead of the rollout.
“We are on a mission to make preventive and primary healthcare accessible to every woman,” Bomide added. “VivaFemini is where innovation meets compassion by women, for women.”
