Nigeria Air Force Airstrikes Eliminate Over 40 Terrorists in Borno State

Precision operation targets insurgent hideouts as military intensifies efforts to restore security in the North-East

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major operational success after conducting precision airstrikes that neutralised more than 40 terrorists in Borno State, as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the North-East region.

According to military sources, the airstrikes were carried out following credible intelligence that identified the location of terrorist enclaves used for planning attacks and coordinating logistics against civilians and security forces. The operation targeted key hideouts in remote areas of Borno, delivering a significant blow to the armed groups operating in the region.

NAF officials explained that the mission was executed with careful surveillance and intelligence coordination to ensure accuracy and minimise collateral damage. The strikes reportedly disrupted the terrorists’ command structure, destroyed logistics assets, and weakened their operational capacity.

The successful operation forms part of a broader military campaign aimed at degrading insurgent networks, restoring peace to affected communities, and supporting ground troops engaged in clearance and stabilization operations across the North-East. Security analysts say sustained air and ground offensives have contributed to reducing the frequency and scale of terrorist attacks in recent months.

Residents in affected areas have welcomed the development, expressing hope that continued military pressure will lead to improved security, the return of displaced persons, and the revival of economic activities. The Nigerian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to protecting lives and property while maintaining momentum in the fight against terrorism.

Authorities have assured the public that operations will continue until terrorist groups are completely dismantled and lasting peace is restored to Borno State and the wider region.
