Islamic Movement in Nigeria Continues Protest Over US–Israel Strikes on Iran and Death of Khamenei

Shi’ite group stages demonstrations condemning attacks and expressing solidarity with Iran

Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, commonly known as Shi’ites, continued their protests on Monday against the United States and Israel following airstrikes in Iran that resulted in the reported death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The group gathered in designated locations to express opposition to the military actions and to show solidarity with Iran amid the escalating tensions. Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans condemning the strikes, calling for restraint and an end to further escalation in the region.

Leaders of the movement stated that their demonstrations are intended to draw attention to what they describe as acts of aggression and to advocate for peaceful resolution of international disputes. They urged global powers to prioritize diplomacy over military confrontation to prevent wider instability.

Security personnel were reportedly present to monitor the protests and maintain order. Authorities have continued to urge calm while allowing lawful expression of opinion in line with constitutional provisions.

The protests reflect broader reactions within parts of the Muslim community to developments in the Middle East and underscore the impact of international events on local religious and political groups.
