Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has explained why she no longer attends church physically, stating that she became uncomfortable with the level of attention she receives during services.
According to her, whenever she attends church, members of the media team often focus heavily on her, frequently recording videos and taking pictures. She said this constant attention makes it difficult for her to worship in peace and has become a source of discomfort.
The actress noted that due to this experience, she has now opted to participate in church services online instead, where she can worship without the pressure of public attention.
Her explanation has since sparked conversations on the balance between celebrity presence in public worship spaces and the need for privacy during religious activities.
