The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has clarified that Femi Gbajabiamila was not arrested, but was only questioned in connection with an ongoing investigation involving the Presidential Fleet and Infrastructure Procurement Committee (PFIPC).
The commission dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives had been arrested, describing the claims as inaccurate.
According to the ICPC, Gbajabiamila honoured an invitation from the commission and cooperated with investigators by providing information relevant to the inquiry.
The anti-corruption agency urged the public to rely on verified information and refrain from spreading unconfirmed reports while investigations continue.
