Lagos State has been confirmed as the host of the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards, with the prestigious ceremony set to take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos.
The annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of African footballers, coaches, clubs, national teams and administrators over the previous year. Major honours to be presented include the Men's Player of the Year, Women's Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year and Club of the Year awards.
Hosting the ceremony further strengthens Nigeria's position as a destination for major continental sporting events. The country is also scheduled to host the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly later this year, underscoring its growing role in African football administration.
The 2026 edition will mark the first time Nigeria hosts the CAF Awards since 2015, when the ceremony was held in Lagos. CAF is yet to announce the official date for this year's awards.
