The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Nigerians that passport services across the country remain fully operational, dismissing reports suggesting that passport issuance has been suspended following the migration of additional passport branches to the Central Personalization Centre (CPC).
In a statement, the NIS explained that the migration exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency, security and reliability of the country's passport processing system.
The Service emphasised that the transition has not disrupted passport application, processing or issuance, urging members of the public to disregard misleading information circulating on social media and other platforms.
According to the NIS, applicants can continue to submit new passport applications, complete biometric enrolment and collect their passports at designated centres in line with existing procedures.
The Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to delivering faster and more efficient passport services, adding that the ongoing upgrade is aimed at enhancing service delivery and providing a better experience for Nigerians at home and abroad.
