A Nigerian woman identified as Emmanuel Joy has reportedly been arrested by the Chandan Nagar Police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, in connection with the alleged possession of cocaine.
According to reports, police recovered 57.18 grammes of cocaine from the suspect.
The seized substance was reportedly valued at more than Rs 29 lakh, equivalent to approximately ₦40.9 million.
The arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by Indian authorities to tackle the trafficking and distribution of illegal drugs in the region.
Police are expected to investigate the source of the cocaine, its intended destination and whether the suspect was working with other individuals.
The case will proceed through the Indian legal system, and the allegations against the suspect remain subject to due process.
