Tinubu Congratulates Gombe Woman Who Wins International Qur’anic Competition in Saudi Arabia

Maryam Dan’Azumi defeats competitors from 132 countries to win N120m prize in Makkah.

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Maryam Dan’Azumi from Gombe State for emerging winner in the women's category of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Qur’anic Competition in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Dan’Azumi emerged ahead of competitors from 132 other countries, earning a prize of 300,000 Saudi Riyal, equivalent to approximately N120 million.

The President celebrated the achievement as a source of pride for Nigeria, commending Dan’Azumi for her outstanding performance and dedication to Qur’anic knowledge.

The international competition, held in the holy city of Makkah, brings together participants from different countries to demonstrate their knowledge and mastery of the Qur’an.

Dan’Azumi's victory places Nigeria among the countries recognised for excellence at the prestigious international Qur’anic competition.
