The hip-hop mogul and Bad Boy Records founder is set to serve a 50-month prison term after being sentenced by Judge Arun Subramanian in federal court.
Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially begun serving his federal prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security correctional facility in New Jersey, United States, where he is expected to spend the next two and a half years.
According to law enforcement sources, Diddy was transferred early Thursday morning from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York, where he had been held since his September 2024 arrest.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) confirmed that Combs’s projected release date is May 8, 2028, though that may change depending on conduct and rehabilitation progress. His legal team said the facility was chosen for its rehabilitation programs, family visitation options, and substance abuse treatment support.
Judge Arun Subramanian had sentenced the music entrepreneur to 50 months in prison, marking a major turn in the career of the Bad Boy Entertainment founder. His lawyer, Mark Geragos, warned that Diddy still faces potential threats in custody, describing him as “a high-profile target.”
The 54-year-old billionaire and producer, known for his global hits and luxury lifestyle, will now focus on rehabilitation while adjusting to life behind bars.
